Analogly Tuned Lighting

How might we interact with our surrounding with analogs motions? This project investigates the possibility of using analog motions to control digital lighting. The design aims to draw attention to the daily action of flipping a light switch, and extend the experience of a light switch to a more contemplative experience. Typically, pulling a string simply turns a light on or off instantly. In this project, I proposed a two-sided light that can shine upwards or downwards, providing directional lighting for reading or atmosphere. Rather than an on/off switch, pulling the string controls the lighting direction continuously between up and down.
