Current smart home systems largely rely on fixed automations, which can limit how everyday objects participate in more adaptive and situated forms of interaction. On the other hand, we think of humanoids, a single entity that perfors almost every single task but in a form that we aren't accustomed to. We want to create a system that allows everyday objects to work together to perform tasks, and to be able to interact with the user in a more natural way. Cordyceps deonstrates a system that let objects come to life and work together. In our approach, everyday objects such as a mirror, lamp, and radio operate as coordinated agents, with behavior shaped by their modalities, physical affordances, functionality and relations to one another.
